• Plot: Rich and Strange; Fred Hill (Henry Kendall) and his wife Emily (Joan Barry) are a small-town British couple leading an ordinary boring life at home. When they inherit some money from a rich uncle they decide to take a world cruise. They both quickly find themselves out of their element. Each makes an attempt at an extra-marital affair, and both fail miserably. Having found that money cannot buy happiness, they try to return to good old England, but the trip is full of unexpected disaster.; ; The Thirty Nine Steps; Richard Hannay (Robert Donat) gets more than he bargained for when he brings home a frightened young woman who confesses to be a British agent on the trail of foreign spies bent on smuggling military secrets from England. The woman is killed in Hannay's apartment and he suddenly finds himself on the run from both the police and the secret agent. Along the way he becomes attracted to a cool but hesitant blonde, and together they try to solve the mystery of the agent's last words, 'The Thirty-Nine Steps...'; ; Young and Innocent; Starlet Christine Clay (Pamela Carme) washes up on a seaside beach and is found by Robert Tisdall (Derrick Demarney). Running for help, he is spotted by swimmers who report him to the police as the murderer. After being picked up for questioning, Tisdall realizes that as a stranger in town he is unlikely to beat the murder charge. Rather than pay for a crime he didn't commit he escapes, determined to find the guilty party. While hiding out, Robert enlists the assistance of Erica (Nova Pillbeam), who turns out to be the chief constable's daughter. Together, Erica and Robert set out to prove his innocence.
