Shot by the great Stanley Kubrick collaborator, cinematographer John Alcott, and highlighted by one of nonpareil composer Jerry Goldsmith's greatest scores, the film also features thrilling supporting performances from Ed Harris (as an amoral mercenary) and Jean-Louis Trintignant (as a charming if deadly spy).;
