• Plot: Nineteen seventy-two was a year to remember for Yes. After the January release of one landmark studio album 'Fragile' (which yielded the perennial album-rock radio staple 'Roundabout'), the band quickly returned to the studio to record another - the epic masterpiece 'Close to The Edge'. Yes then took to the road, where they played for scores of new-found fans in the United States, Europe, Japan and Australia. In less than four years, Yes had blasted to the top of the charts. On the way, they helped create and define the prog-rock genre, making an incredible impact of modern music that even the band themselves could not have anticipated. They spawned scores of imitators, but few pretenders to the throne could keep pace with Yes when it came to taking the stage. Already a critically acclaimed studio band, the Yessongs tour provided proof that at no time is the intensity of Yes music felt more strongly then when experienced live. Captured at London's Rainbow Theatre in December 1972, Yessongs embodies all of the aspects of what would later be nostalgically referred to as 'Classic Yes' - epic compositions, symphonic in structure, performed live by the lineup of Anderson, Squire, Howe, Wakeman and White. Always musical pacesetters, Yes would continue to evolve throughout the years to come; their creative steam sustaining numerous incarnations.
